BMSEED at 2023 BRAIN Initiative Meeting
BMSEED will exhibit our research products at the 2023 BRAIN Initiative Meeting on June 12-13, 2023. Our mission is to provide innovative solutions to electrically and mechanically interface with living cells in vitro and in vivo for research, pre-clinical drug development, and clinical applications using stretchable microelectrode arrays (sMEAs). For in vitro applications, BMSEED’s MicroElectrode Array Stretching Stimulating und Recording Equipment (MEASSuRE) mimics the electromechanical environment of cells in vivo, e.g., as an in vitro model for traumatic brain injury (TBI). MEASSuRE integrates three modules into one cohesive research and technology tool: (a) the Mechanics Module reproduces in vitro the biomechanical environment of cells in vivo, (b) the Electrophysiology Module allows recording and stimulation of electrophysiological activity within the tissue before, during and after stretching (the electrodes stretch with the tissue), and (c) the Imaging Module visualizes the cells and cellular processes throughout the stretching motion. We are currently working on extending the applications for MEASSuRE to 3D environments such as electrophysiology with brain organoids and a microfluidic chip for research on Alzheimer's Disease. BMSEED also offers stretchable MEAs for interfaces with the brain (ECoG) and peripheral nerves (microclip) in vivo. We are looking forward to discuss how our products could help with your research.
